Choosing Optimism: A Note From Our VP Of Sales

Choosing Optimism: A Note From Our VP Of Sales

To our Capital Homes family, friends, and neighbors -

Like many of you, I’m struck by the severity of the challenges we face as a community, as a state and as a nation. In the connected society that we live in, reinforced by the 24-hour news cycle, the press conferences, and the fear and uncertainty we see on social media, we are all acutely aware of the struggles and challenges others face. I feel an immense sense of gratitude to the leaders and professionals who are working daily to solve the challenges that we face and to make things better for all of us.

As someone who is not a public servant or a professional tasked with solving our current crisis, it can be easy to feel a sense of helplessness. But like the silver lining behind every dark cloud, in every challenge we have hope. Hope that at some point, the future will be better than the present.

Within that light of hope we have a choice- the choice to embrace optimism. Optimism that we’ve been through tough times before, and come through stronger and better prepared for the constant change that is life. Optimism that every crisis like the one we face today will eventually come to an end.

Within optimism, we have opportunity all around us. The opportunity to make the future better than today. The opportunity to connect with those around us in a more meaningful way. To draw closer to our families, our friends, and our communities. The opportunity to offer a word of encouragement, to express love for those around us, to pray for those in need, and yes – there is even economic opportunity.

When we make the choice to embrace optimism and recognize the opportunities around us, our perspective changes. The turmoil of the stock market and the steep drops we’ve witnessed over the previous weeks become an opportunity to invest in the future at a discount. The financial uncertainty and plunging interest rates become an opportunity to secure a better life for ourselves and our families.

For those of us who have been forced to pause our professional lives, we have the opportunity to re-examine how we can serve others, and to do so in new ways. The examples we’ve seen of this resiliency and creative problem solving by individuals and businesses alike are powerful and inspiring.

As a team, everyone at Capital Homes is proud of and honored by the work that we do for our community - to provide a really good place to live, at a fair price, for those that we serve to live through the milestones of their lives. We recognize that the families we serve will laugh and love, celebrate and mourn all of life’s ups and downs in the homes that we build. We are grateful to everyone that we are able to serve, even in these turbulent times, as we help them navigate the uncertainty surrounding us all and help them find their opportunity for a better future.

None of us know if our worst days are behind us, but we do know that our best days are still ahead of us.

From all of us here at Capital Homes, we remain committed to serving our community, now and always, to the best of our ability.

Sincerely,

Michael Sorrell, V.P. of Sales
